Surf and Farm

Grilled Pork Steaks topped with a lump crab meat gravy. This dish is perfectly paired with Sour Cream and Chive mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus . This beautiful dish can be made in 40 minutes.

Pork Steaks

6 pork steaks

3 TBSPItalian seasoning

2 TBSP Garlic Powder

Pinch of salt and pepper

Season pork steaks with all the seasoning. I use my Nuwave Oven Pro . You can pick up one at Walmart

Cook steak for 20 minutes. Check them, you may need to add a few additional minutes. Cook until pork steaks are cooked to grilled perfection

Asparagus

1 lb of fresh asparagus

Olive oil

Salt and pepper

Preheat oven at 375

Line a cookie sheet with non stick foil. Cut the ends off of asparagus and place on cookie sheet. Drizzle light with olive oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Cook for 15 min

Lump crab meat gravy

2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 3 green onions (thinly sliced) 1 cup half-and-half (or light cream) 4 to 6 ounces crabmeat (cooked and flaked) Salt to taste (kosher)

In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Stir in flour until smooth and bubbly. Continue cooking, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the green onions to the flour mixture then gradually stir in the half-and-half. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add the crab meat and salt and pepper, to taste.

Sour Cream and Chive mashed potatoes

1 packed of premade mashed potatoes ( I loved the Members Mark brand of Yukon Mashed potatoes)

4 oz Sour Cream

3 tbsp chopped fresh chives

Cut a slit in the middle of potatoe package and cook in microwave for 4 min

Remove film and add sour cream and chives

Stir well and cook for another 2 min.


Plate like a Chef

1. Place a spoonful of potatoes in plate.

2. Place 6 asparagus on top of potatoes.

3. Place steak on top of asparagus.

4.Pour gravy on top of steaks

5. Garnish with cilantro or parsley

6. Enjoy
